Toddler and Kid's Joe's Jeans 2for1

I don't shop here often, but I popped into Extra Foods yesterday afternoon to grab some groceries and stumbled upon a great deal on kid's jeans.  

All of the kid/toddler/baby jeans (reg.$12) are Buy One, Get One FREE...that means $6 a pair, which is great for me!  The $12 boys' styles include mainly straight fits, but there are skinny styles for toddler sizes...oh, and of course girls. At this price, my little guy can bust a hole through the knee and it won't matter :).

I haven't checked, but I suspect that the Superstore has been running the same promo (sorry, not sure when the promo ends!)

Therapik

I woke up this morning and discovered I had acquired a nasty mosquito bite on my face!!  I wasn't even camping...nope, the annoying little bug must've snuck into the house (it's like Fort Knox with all of the windowscreens though!?)

Anyway, I thought...hey! What better opportunity to try out my new Therapik?

The Therapik is a battery operated device that is supposed to neutralize the enzymes in the saliva/bite that cause an itchy reaction in our skin.  The earlier you apply it, the better the outcome.  The longer you apply it, the better too.  Although, I suspect some people have a better tolerance for heat than others.  The recommendation is minimum 30 seconds.

I applied it for as long as I could without worrying about burning myself! Lasted about 90 seconds?  Immediately after I could no longer feel the big bump under the bite.  It feels like a small pimple vs. a honking big zit!  I'd say it shrank by at least half, and it does not itch!  Sold!

MEC Langley Grand Opening

MEC has a new location, off of #10 Hwy in Langley, BC.  It's actually in the former location of Danier/Sport Mart right next to Willowbrook Shopping Centre.

The Grand Opening is today, Sat June 22, from 9-6.  They gave away free water bottles to the first 100 patrons in line...folks were in line as early as 7am!  I arrived a few minutes before 9am and there were easily 250 people in line ahead of me.

Lots of stuff to see and do!

Giveaways are happening all day on the half hour, every hour.

Torre and Tagus Sale Week 2

My sister and a friend wanted to revisit the Torre and Tagus Warehouse Sale, where discounts were moved to 75% off all white stickered items (vs. 50% off last week).  You can find the original post here.

We were fully expecting to not find anything, but to our surprise, there were some 'leftovers' to be had!

Here are my finds:

White porcelain "can" with silicone lid.  I will use this as a sugar container for coffee and tea.  Reg. $11, down to $2.75.

Salad bowl, hard plastic.  Reg.$18.75, down to $4.69

A pair of Cast Iron "jacks" paperweights/bookends.  Reg. $17 ea, down to $4.25 ea.

White porcelain salad bowl.  Reg. $25, down to $6.25.

Linen-look scarf.  Reg. $15, down to $3.

Lotus tea light holder.  Reg. $6, down to $1.50.  It was actually purple when I bought it, but gave it a makeover with a little spray paint ;-)

RW & Co. has an enormous amount of women's clearance starting today. If you are looking for a summer skirt, blouse or tank top, pop in soon for their best selection.

My twin and I went today, and it was just our fortune to pop in the first day of the sale. The entire length of the store is lined up with ladies tanks, short sleeve blouses, spring weight trench jackets and parkas etc., galore.

I picked up 3 basic but dressier tank tops today. Regular $25.50 but marked down to $22 and then an additional 40% off that. Not a cheap-cheap deal, but for the quality and the cut, I am actually quite pleased. They are modest and not skin tight, right up my alley. The black and white tanks are jersey with a pocket in the front and then a thicker but flowy chiffon in the back.
