J.Crew Bubble Necklace Look-A-Like

A couple of weeks ago, I was over at Jessica's house and I was mindlessly looking on the internet, such as habit, scanning for shopping 'deals'.  It was out of the blue that I decided to look up eBay for a J.Crew iconic statement necklace that I have been eyeing for a couple of years.  I was trying my luck to see if anyone was selling off their necklace for a good price (though why one would want to is beyond me!).  I just couldn't justify the original  $174 price tag - just too hefty for me, particularly since I couldn't settle on just one colour.

And then it happened.  I found a host of listings for "J.Crew Bubble Necklaces" . . . all for under $20, and all from Hong Kong/Asia.  These, I realized quickly, weren't authentic, but how bad could they be?  That led to the tailspin of googling the knock-offs, and we were quickly amazed at the prolific blogging on the subject - all positive reviews on this amazing necklace.

This necklace perks up just about any outfit - and takes an ordinary outfit to a whole other level - without much effort at all!

It was exciting to get these necklaces in today!  We each ordered 3 (since they were such a bargain), trusting the bloggers we were reading for their shining reviews of the quality of the product.

No, we would never dare wear all three at once - not the look we're going after.  But how fun are these?  We each purchased Turquoise (which has faceted beads), Coral and Yellow.  There were other colours available such as black, white, grey and pink!  We showed (a little) restraint :-)

I will say that the quality of the piece is fantastic for costume jewelry.  There is a built-in extender that allows you to adjust the length of the piece.  The charm by the clasp is, funnily enough,  actually engraved with J.Crew's branding (but I still doubt the authenticity of this).  The piece is weighty, but not unpleasantly, especially when you're not donning 3 at once.  The beads themselves are all set properly and securely.  It does not look "cheap."

So, where can YOU get it? Go to Ebay here.  At the time of this posting, the seller we used did not have any current listings( he's ID# yml19820421).  He was a fantastic seller, and he packed all 6 necklaces into one package, each individually bubble-wrapped.  It took a week for shipping, and 2 more weeks for transit.  But I imagine that the other sellers are selling the exact same product... all free shipping from HK.  Worth the wait!
